GP-580 AUTO DOUBLE WIRE PATCHING AND BINDING MACHINE

This model GP-580 AUTO DOUBLE WIRE PATCHING AND BINDING MACHINE, newly produced, is designed in line with the requirements of “Industry 4.0 – Transition 4.0”, offering full compliance with the latest industrial automation standards.

The machine, completely new, performs automatic patching and binding using double Wire-O metal spirals. It can be connected inline with a collector via a dedicated interface (not included). It is suitable for the automatic patching and binding of various types of calendars, notebooks, and catalogs, including those with hangers. It supports a maximum binding thickness of 16.5 mm, thanks to a splitting system that uses five clamps, allowing processing in multiple consecutive cycles, with a maximum patching of about 3.5 mm per cycle. The color touch-screen control panel, branded Siemens, ensures simple and quick management of operations.

Processing Steps and Technical Specifications:

  • Manual Loading Station: Calendars and catalogs are manually loaded, aligned, and then transferred to the Patching Station.
  • Connection Module for Automatic Feeding (optional): Thanks to this module, the machine can be connected inline with an automatic collector.
  • Patching Station: The material is automatically positioned under the patching die. Five automatic clamps divide the material to be punched, allowing for a maximum thickness of 3.5 mm to be punched in each pass (variable depending on the type of paper). The total binding capacity is 16.5 mm, achieved with five consecutive divisions. Patching dies with a pitch of 3:1 and 2:1 can be used.
  • Alignment Station: The punched material is recomposed and aligned, ready to be transferred to the Binding Station, thanks to the use of punches that ensure perfect alignment.
  • Automatic Binding Station: The punched material is automatically transferred and positioned in this station, where the double Wire-O spiral is inserted. An automatic device for inserting the hanger is available as an option. The process concludes with the cutting and closing of the spiral. The machine supports Wire-O spirals with diameters ranging from 1/4″ (3:1 pitch) to 3/4″ (2:1 pitch), covering binding thicknesses from 3.5 mm to a maximum of 16 mm. It includes an automatic unwinder for the metal spiral and a rewinding system for the spiral separator sheet.
  • Hanger Insertion Device (optional): Not included as standard, it is available as an additional accessory.
  • Discharge Station: Once binding is complete, the finished product is picked up via an arm with suction cups and deposited onto a programmable conveyor belt.
